Research Requests

The Documentation Centre welcomes research requests from academic and professional researchers well as from the public at large. It is open by appointment to all of those who wish to consult our documents for research purposes.To submit a research request to the Documentation Centre, please send us your inquiry by email at documentation@heritagemontreal.org. Please specify your name and contact details, as well as a detailed outline of your research topic.Research requests are usually handled within a maximum delay of 5 working days. Results will be transmitted to you by email after which it is then possible to make an appointment to consult documents at our centre.We ask that researchers comply with the following Documentation Centre policies.

  1. Only the Documentation Centre personnel can provide access to documents - researchers do not have unrestricted access to the documents.
  2. It is forbidden to write on or to fold the documents.
  3. Drinking, eating and smoking are not allowed inside the Documentation Centre.
  4. Heritage Montreal’s Documentation Centre offers photocopying services. There is a fee of 20¢ per individual copy (black and white).
  5. Only Heritage Montreal personnel photocopy material.
  6. Documentation photocopies are provided to users strictly for research purposes only.
  7. The reproduction of a document in its entirety is forbidden.
