For immediate release

Montreal, March 7, 2008 – Now is the time to sign up for Héritage Montréal’s popular series of Home Renovation Courses, starting in March 2008. Taught by architects, engineers and other housing professionals, they are an ideal way for homeowners and prospective buyers to learn what they need to know about maintaining, renovating and restoring homes of any age or architectural style.

Homeowners are ideally placed to preserve the harmony and beauty of the built environment that make up much of our city’s charming neighbourhoods. Héritage Montréal has been giving these highly appreciated courses since 1981. The courses look at routine problems and their causes and examine solutions that suit the different architectural features of various homes. Armed with the knowledge they need, homeowners go away feeling more confident about making the substantial financial commitments that their projects require.

For just $299, the series of seven thematic courses is offered in English at Dawson College every Wednesday evening from March 26 to May 7, and in French at Collège de Maisonneuve every Tuesday evening from April 1 to May 13. Courses run from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. and will cover the following topics:

• Montreal residential architecture through history
• General home inspection
• Renovation planning and administration
• Foundations and structure
• Exterior walls, roofs and insulation
• Doors, windows and exterior woodwork
• Mechanical and electrical systems

Location d’outils Simplex is a Major Partner of the 2008 Home Renovation Courses.
