H\u00e9ritage Montr\u00e9al and its Next Generation Committee, in partnership with the Conseil des m\u00e9tiers d\u2019art du Qu\u00e9bec, invite you to have your say and vote for the People\u2019s Choice Award as part of the fourth edition of their ideation competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
H\u00e9ritage Montr\u00e9al\u2019s \u201cCharrette\u201d aims to highlight a vulnerable heritage site and propose redevelopment scenarios that adhere to the principles of excellence put forward by H\u00e9ritage Montr\u00e9al. This is a multidisciplinary ideation exercise with respect for heritage as its only constraint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For several years now, H\u00e9ritage Montr\u00e9al has been actively involved in discussions about the future of Bridge-Bonaventure, particularly through public consultations regarding its redevelopment. This new edition is part of that process, inviting the next generation of designers to envision projects that are sensitive to the area\u2019s heritage and realities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n As in previous editions, the design workshop focuses on vacant or underutilized industrial sites. What makes this year\u2019s edition unique is that the targeted site is located in a neighborhood where three arts and crafts organizations\u2014Forges de Montr\u00e9al, Espace Verre, and Juget-Sinclair\u2014are already firmly established. The challenge is to design a development that anchors and expands the presence of these artisans by creating a true \u201cQuartier des m\u00e9tiers d\u2019art\u201d (Arts and Crafts District). The goal is to preserve and support productive and manufacturing activity in the heart of the city, bucking the general trend of deindustrialization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Participants are thus called upon to highlight the area\u2019s rich industrial and landscape heritage, explore its potential as a hub for creation and production, and propose innovative visions rooted in the existing context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Only one vote is permitted per person. Any additional or duplicate vote, or any attempt to circumvent this rule, may be considered invalid and cancelled without notice. H\u00e9ritage Montr\u00e9al reserves the right to carry out any necessary verification to ensure the integrity of the voting process and to exclude any vote deemed fraudulent, automated or otherwise contrary to these rules. Voting closes on September 30, 2026, at 5 p.m. (EST)<\/strong>.
