Founded on October 15, 1975, under the presidency of Phyllis Lambert, the Héritage Montréal Foundation is now celebrating 50 years of action and advocacy for the protection and enhancement of the architectural, historical, natural and cultural heritage of communities across the greater Montreal region and Quebec. For half a century, the organization has worked to ensure that heritage, in all its diversity, is recognized for its value in our collective life, particularly in shaping the identity of the metropolis.
For 50 years, hundreds of volunteers have helped bring the organization to life. Their expertise, their passion and the next generation they inspire ensure the continuity of an essential mission: protecting heritage in order to build a better future.
