Imagine a city without heritage; it ultimately means accepting to live in a city without soul, without memory, and without memories! Héritage Montréal was founded in 1975 to protect and promote this rich architectural heritage found in the greater Montreal metropolitan area.

Your support allows us to continue our mission. Representing the vast majority of our revenue, donations indeed have a decisive impact on our ability to finance our operations and programs.

Why donate?

Your donation will allow us to:

• Create new educational and awareness programs and activities to promote heritage;
• Support our numerous advocacy activities with decision-makers;
• Reach and mobilize more citizens through our digital platform content;
• Develop tools for owners and local communities and provide expertise for developing heritage-supportive projects.

Please note that if you make an initial significant donation for culture of $5,000 or more, you will receive an additional tax credit of 25%, on top of the existing credits. A $5,000 donation could thus have a net cost of only $1,340 for the donor.

Share your passion for Montreal by joining a dynamic team of volunteers!

Héritage Montréal offers you an orientation session, training depending on the projects, a volunteer guide, networking activities, access to a resource person, personalized support, and numerous opportunities for learning and discovery. All volunteers are selected following a group interview. Volunteers selected to join the team must participate in an orientation session before volunteering. Volunteers are essential for the realization and presentation of Héritage Montréal’s public programs.

It is thanks to the collaboration of our volunteer team that we can offer so many opportunities to raise awareness about Montreal’s heritage.

Steps to become a volunteer

• Complete the online form.
• Participate in a group interview.
• Attend the orientation or training session as appropriate.
