ArchitecTours 2026 Guided Tours

Are you eager to share your passion for Montreal and learn more about its architecture and history? Would you like to help raise awareness of and showcase heritage? Join Héritage Montréal’s team of volunteer guides! We are currently recruiting volunteer guides for the next edition of our ArchitecTours guided tours.


Required qualifications

  • Students, graduates, or individuals with excellent knowledge in one of the following fields: architecture, urban planning, built heritage conservation, art history, history, or another related field
  • An interest in Montreal heritage, architecture, urban planning and/or history
  • Excellent public speaking skills and the ability to spark visitors’ curiosity
  • An interest in research, strong synthesis skills, and the ability to tailor a tour script

Description of tasks

  • Mandatory participation in 4 training sessions on Wednesday evenings from April 29 to May 20, 2026, held mainly in French
  • Based on a draft script, complete the research and develop a full tour script, with an average of 30 hours of preparation
  • Be available in July and August to prepare the tours, including additional research and group practice sessions
  • Lead guided tours in French or English, with three or four presentations during the season between August 15 and October 18, 2026
