Our guided walks are designed to allow participants to discover Montreal’s unique architecture and history as well as past, current and future development challenges affecting our urban heritage.
The series At the heart of the City is presented from April to June. Our ArchitecTours season usually begins in early August and continues over 9 weeks.
Our circuits vary in practicability and are often affected by the city’s repair works. Our Activities Coordinator will gladly provide you with the information needed to ensure that a circuit is accessible and can be contacted by phone at 514 286-2662 ext. 21 or by email at contact@heritagemontreal.org.
Heritage Montreal’s guides are all passionate volunteers who are eager to share their knowledge of our great city’s urban heritage and unique architecture. They work or study in the fields of architecture, urban planning, art history, tourism, museum studies and heritage conservation.
Yes, you must buy your ticket online before the tour.
The number of participants per group is limited and varies between 20 and 30 depending on the tour.
We suggest that you use public transportation because some of our circuits are not loops. If the arrival point is different from the departure point, the final destination will always be close to a metro station or bus stop. A few days before the tour, you will receive a reminder email with a map indicating the departure point.
Our guides and our greeting agents will be wearing a distinctive element with the Heritage Montreal logo and will be awaiting you at the departure point.
Yes! Our walks take place rain or shine.
Our walking tours are two hour long, we therefore encourage you to wear your most comfortable shoes. We also suggest you bring a hat, an umbrella and a water bottle. Cell phones should be turned off so as not to disturb the tour.
Our tours are held outside and no stops are scheduled. We suggest that you bring along everything you might need. The tours begin near metro stations; we suggest you make use of nearby services prior to the start of the tour.
Dogs are not allowed on guided tours, except for assistance dogs.
