What value do we grant to existing buildings? What political tools can Quebec’s architects and residents employ to resist demolitions?
We invite you to explore and discuss these questions as part of our exhibition To Build Law, currently on view in our Main Galleries, and during a conversation organized in partnership with Héritage Montréal’s Next Generation Committee. We will explore different strategies related to building requalification, such as material circularity, temporary occupancy, and methods for determining a building’s heritage value, as well as the various standards and regulatory and environmental issues related both to the rehabilitation of historical buildings and existing construction.
